Republic of Ireland

Hi everyone!

Welcome to our blog of our world tour! After a few hectic weeks of getting visas (one of them twice!) and packing up 2 houses, we are finally on our way! We got the ferry over from Liverpool to Dublin which was nice to just relax for 8 hours. We spent our first couple of days sightseeing around Dublin including lots of a museums and a day at the Guinness Storehouse. That was a great day with a free pint at the end of it!

Our second stop was Cork which is further south in Ireland. We had our first taste of hostel life and thankfully Kirren survived! We had a lovely day at Blarney Castle where we kissed the Blarney Stone and should now have had the 'Gift of the Gab' bestowed upon us! (I'm sure enough of you are thinking we already have plenty of that!)

We had a nice Sunday evening in a local pub which played traditional Irish music and Andy tried some Rebel Red (local lager from the Rebel County of Cork!). We made friends with some locals and some tourists from Canada, so definitely feel like we're in the travelling spirit now!

We've just got to Limerick and are enjoying a nice swanky hotel for a couple of days so are looking forward to our 'spa night' this evening with pool, gym and sauna!

Hope you're all well!

A+K xx
